Feng shui literally translates to mean Wind and Water.

By using the movement of the wind which creates CHI and combining

Here's how it works:

In Chinese feng shui there is an eight sided baqua.

Each of the eight sides represents an area of your life such as wealth, relationships, creativity etc.

There are also five elements.

FIRE - RED
EARTH - YELLOW
METAL - WHITE
WATER - BLUE
WOOD - GREEN

By simply placing these five colors of flags in a circle in the order above you will effectively balance the elements around your property and create a flow of CHI (energy) while at the same time beautifying your property. You can place them around your house, the garden, a pond or even around a teepee as we do at our place. Try putting them in an open field and having a picnic in the middle or better yet meditating on a sunny day with a gentle breeze. If you live in a very hot climate you may want to put up only blue flags (water) to cool things down. If you live in a cold climate then use red flags (fire) to heat things up. You will be amazed at the results. This is only one of the ways to use feng shui flags.

In Ancient Balinese culture there was great significance in the
directional placement of colored flags to create protection of
family, wealth, respect of the Gods, long life etc. These ancient principles
have been rediscovered by one young enlightened and very talented Balinese artist
living amongst the beautiful rice fields in one of the Cosmic Energy Spots of the Island.
After having a near death experience at a very early age, and then being miraculously
healed of great physical handicaps, he gained insight and guidance from his ancestors
leading to a rediscovery of this ancient art which he labels the "Color of Life"
and has been given a great gift of art which he is now being recognized for through
many of the finest art galleries in the world.

Here is the basic layout of a traditional Balinese compound according to the concept of pengider bhavana or Mandala as many know it by which is the idea of balancing nature, human beings and God. Pengider means Circle, and bhavana means cosmos. It is symbolized by a Mandala with eight directions plus a center, each associated with a color, gods, attribute, number, place in the body etc.

SOUTH EAST / PINK
SOUTH / RED
SOUTH WEST / ORANGE
WEST / YELLOW
NORTH WEST / GREEN
CENTER / WHITE OR MULTI COLORED

Below are the colors of pengider bhvana, the color of life, described on a universal level.
The circle begins from White in the east, then moving clockwise to the blue in the northeast direction.

TRADITIONAL CHINESE FENG SHUI:

As mentioned above the Chinese feng shui bagua has eight sides and is usually lined up with the front door of your home. Each corner represents some area of your life. It can also be used individually for each room or in this case (unless you have very high ceilings) lined up with your driveway or the front of your house.

Feng Shui Flags are made of a custom Satin and Acetate material for a radiant and durable product which will resist fading and hold up very well against the elements (as well as balancing them). You may want to use your feng shui flags only for special occasions or keep them up permanently. Of course they will last longer if they are taken down during harsh weather and the winter months.

Feng Shui Flags are about 16 feet in height and do best when hung on a 20 foot 3/4 inch copper pipe ( flagpoles not included) which is available at hardware stores for about $12.00. Make sure you use a end cap to protect the flags. We will have a how to page in the very near future so please check back.
